Top 10 Food Bank Donation Needs

November is food banks’ busiest month. Nearly 70% of the food distributed in weekly food bags is donated by the community. The Johnson County Crisis Center Food Bank distributes 75,000 pounds of food each month to help alleviate hunger. The Linn County Salvation Army community meal program serves between 45,000-50,000 meals to adults and children each year. Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) distributes 2.4 million pounds of food to local organizations and provides 4,000 food boxes to families in need.

  9. Laundry Detergent
  10. Toilet Paper
