Packing for a trip can sometimes be frustrating. How do you keep your clothes organized and wrinkle free? What are important things to pack in your carry-on bag? What are things I need to know before going through airport security? As the Friends Club Director for Hills Bank, I’ve traveled quite a bit, and I want to share my tips for packing for your next trip.

To keep your suitcase organized and wrinkle free, pick up 2- gallon (also known as jumbo) bags at your local department store.

If you’re flying, make sure you have one outfit in your carry-on bag in the event your checked suitcase doesn’t make it to your destination on time. And ALWAYS be sure to pack your medication in your carry-on so it’s with you at all times.

When going through security at the airport, follow the 3-1-1 Rule for your carry-on bag:

  • If you pack liquid, gel, or aerosol cans, only the have 3 ounce size is permitted. And remember, toothpaste counts as a liquid!
  • All your 3 ounce liquid bottles need to fit in a 1 quart clear bag.
  • Each person gets 1 clear quart bag.

I hope some of these tips will help you pack for your next trip. We’d love to hear your tips and suggestions for packing in the comments below!
