A New Look For Hills Bank Shop Local

Hills Bank Shop Local

This holiday season Hills Bank would like to show our support by encouraging the community to Shop Local. In today’s marketplace shopping locally is important to the vitality of our local communities.

You may have seen the Shop Locally logo throughout the Eastern Iowa Corridor over the years, especially during the holiday shopping season. This year, we’ve updated the logo, but the concept is still the same.

Both businesses and individuals can support Shop Local in a variety of ways.

If you are a local business, please support our Shop Local program in the following ways:

  • Display the Shop Local window decal so shoppers know you are a locally owned and operated business. If you did not receive a window decal in the mail, or would like more, please contact Tara Horesowsky at or call Tara at 319-358-2261.
  • Visit, share suggested posts promoting Shop Local on your own social media channels, and download our Shop Local logo.

By shopping at businesses with our Shop Local logo, you can feel good about your holiday spending while supporting our local merchants.

  • Share a photo of yourself at your favorite local shopping spot to our Facebook page. The goal is to make it as fun as possible, so maybe if you’re at the local coffee shop, you could take a fun selfie with your favorite drink. The 5 most unique shop local pictures sent to our page will win a $100 Visa® Gift Card*.
  • By choosing to shop locally, you are not only helping your town prosper, you also receive benefits that only a local business can provide.
    • Employment
Hometown businesses employ local residents, creating jobs for you as well as your friends, family, and neighbors.
    • Quality Merchandise
When you buy locally, you find unique products and services that serve as great gifts. You know the reputation of the business and if you are unhappy with a purchase, they will make sure you are satisfied.
    • Economic Development
Every dollar spent here will circulate numerous times throughout the community. This economic growth will attract businesses, create jobs, and improve the quality of life.
    • Personal Service
Local merchants combine expertise and personal attention to create a memorable shopping experience. They will always help you find what you are looking for.

We thank you for your support of this program and appreciate your roles as merchants and consumers in our community.  Please don’t forget to share your favorite place to shop local to our Facebook page for consideration for a $100 Visa® Gift Card*—perfect for the holiday shopping season!

*No purchase or account required to enter or win. Need not be present to win. $100 will be reported to the IRS as income. Deadline for entry is 12/24/16.
