2018 John R. Hughes Community Leadership Awards

The co-workers of Hills Bank and Trust Company are proud to honor our former president by awarding the John R. Hughes Community Leadership Award. John Hughes valued leadership and citizenship qualities believing that those, along with volunteerism, make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.

This award is presented annually to 6th grade students in each of the elementary schools in the Iowa City Community School District and Regina Elementary School. Students who display exceptional leadership and make a difference in their school and community are nominated by their principals.

Award winners’ names will be displayed on a permanent plaque at each of the following schools. Congratulations again to the following students and thank you for your leadership within our community!
